Generation Kill

Pick this up on FX HD, it's a bit like "Over There" without all the back story - excellent production and realistic combat following Marine Core into Iraq.

As I think I said in my first post, its like "Over There" (which was also excellent) without the backstory and back at home in USA bits.

The Godfather in Generation Kill has a wicked name in real life "Chance Kelly"

Well the whole programme is based on the experiences of the Rolling Stones reporter that was with Bravo Company, he wrote a novel when he returned and Generation Kill is based on that.

The whole series just shows who fucked up the US army is - you have these highly trained Recon Marines forced to drive around in Humvee's, the few times they get to Recon a village - they spend hours Reconning it, declare it clear and the regular US army either call in an air strike, artilley it or turn up and shoot everyone.
