A bit of both - my PS3 was acting up around that time yesterday for about an hour - lost all media connections etc, then later on when I went to shut it down, noticed that there was new things on the xmb etc I wasn't sure what they were and couldn't be arsed to check them out
erm, to get them you have to do a manual update, it wouldn't have done it by itself.
your are correct in that I did the manual update when I got home and there is a load more options now on the XMB, however whatever it was yesterday did add some extra options in the video area as there were button options that I didnt have before when I finished watching Planet Terror about 11pm last night
erm I logged in and it said there was an update and would you like to update. It now has glitter.
havent really looked at 3.0 yet, as i started the ps3 to play mag for the test night and had to update, so then i went straight on mag
liked the addition of the bbc iplayer, but apparently it causes uncharted to lock up.
Heard it mentioned that optical and hdmi sound is now supported?
bbc iplayer was the better part of it
until they have a supported party system across all games and working comms the rest is all just cock
hdmi and optical sound have always been supported, but now you can output to them both at the same time.

yes but that will be for bac-compat models only, since they have already stated they have moved past trying to make it bac-compat. So in other words, not the UK or europe. And after they said they would always have bac-compat.
yeah, maybe try reading the article spank.
"The document also says Sony "wants to sell all PS2 titles on PSN", and mentions the possibility of a special new "Japanese Import" section on the PS Store through which it would sell Japan-only PS3 games, like Yakuza 3, for prices between $9.99 to $39.99.
If that wasn't enough the document also notes discussions on the possibility of Dreamcast games coming to PSN, and a Sonic Collection, with all the old Sonic games, coming on one Blu-ray disc."
If they can make dreamcast games work through software, I think they will get PS2 games working.
i still think sony dont seem to know what it is they are doing with the PS3, rather than filling in the obvious gaps within the current set up they just conjure up a new idea as some form of PR distraction against there own lack of control over which direction it is they want to go
I think the problem lies within the differerent territorys,
when MS issues a statement its Microsoft end of,
with Sony it could be SCEE, SCEA or Sony Japan, they all seem to operate seperatly and they all have different ideas of what they are doing with the PS3.
