put option 1 and 2 together and i'll pay the exchange rate equivalent of 40 pounds

if im not getting a like for like service with the us/jap markets at an exchange rate price then im not going to buy into it, until they start to prove themselves as know what they are doing as a whole

to answer superjoes question of why does that bother me, well, competition is good, having sony knowing what they are doing helps strengthen themselves in the market and keeps microsoft and to a lesser extent nintendo developing new technologies as they fight for our disposable income.

If you remember sony sent out a similar questionnaire during the ps2 beta days. I am always getting the impression that sony just doesn't know the western markets and hence this perceived fumbling around in the dark. In the ps2 days, sonys strategy was somewhat easier, sell console for a loss make it back on games. However nowadays theres the entire online thing that sony just seems to have never been bothered about or just clueless, home is a prime example of this. Home just seems to be waiting for that something that will define another buzz word like facebook or twitter.

Having slammed sony for the last two paragraphs, there is some nice stuff on that list, cloud storage for 1, extended warranty, beta games, cross game voice chat. The thing that really bugs me though is the price, $70 is not cheap, especially consider live is $50, so that would have to give me something to warrant the charge. Access to sony's music library would be one but only so long as it can be dumped onto my mp3 player (hell I would even buy an ipod for the service), hell I would even suffer drm on the music.

Either way I'm not that fussed,
I have no control over it, I can only decide to buy or not buy,

MS already do this sort of thing, holding demos back for weeks for silver subscibers, only gold members getting facebook etc etc etc,

But one thing is for certain, I will not be worrying about this until we have hard concrete figures for the UK market and what we will be getting extra.
None of us play together anyway, what does it matter !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a nominal fee - if they give me access to the back catalogue of sony music and / or PSone and PS2 games I'm for it. Else fuck'em. Saying that they are just doing what MS do already, in which case I will still bend over, spread my arse cheeks and let them bum rape me for the privelage to play my PS3 and 360.

Quote:From 29th June you’ll be able to purchase a 1 year or 90-day membership from PlayStation Store and instantly get your hands on the following premium features. Plus, if you sign up for a 1 year membership between 29th June and 3rd August, we’ll also throw in a free downloadable copy of the award winning LittleBigPlanet.

Games:
As a member you can expect to get your hands on at least four games a month at no extra charge. Each month there will be a selection of one PSN game, two minis and one PS one classics available on PlayStation Store for you to download. You also get premium avatars and dynamic themes each month, many of which are exclusive to members.

Talking of exclusive, there will also be discounts available on loads of PlayStation Store content, just for members, so make the most of them as these will change each month as well.

Finally, wherever possible we’ll be making sure that members are included in some selected demos and beta trials before they go live to the public so you can be the one to tell all your mates about the next big game they ‘must’ get.

Just the games, avatars and themes alone are worth at least £200* per year, so even before the other benefits, this service is great value for money

Full Game Trial:
This premium feature gives you the chance to try PSN and Blu-ray disc titles before you buy them in a whole new way. We are not talking normal demos of selected parts of a game here. With Full Game Trial, you can download the full game and play it as if you owned it for approximately one hour, depending on the game, before you decide if you want to buy it or not. So you can check out the online modes, play against friends or anything else you’d normally do with a game.

The other great thing is that your progress and trophies from the trial will all be unlocked if you buy the game so no need to go back and start again.

Automatic Download:
We wanted to offer members the speediest service possible so sign up and you can set your PS3 to automatically receive the latest game updates for all the games you play, PS3 system software updates and even have game demos sent directly to your PS3 without lifting a finger.

Just set the time you want to receive them and your PS3 will automatically wake up and download everything, ready for when you next want to play. No more waiting to play your favourite game because there is a new patch or having to remember when the latest system software is launching, let your PS3 do the work.

Details of this great new service, including a list of content available for the first 2 months will be on playstationplus.com between now and the 29th, but don’t forget to get on the Store and sign up before the 3rd August to get the added bonus of a free copy of LittleBigPlanet.

must say none of these are currently swinging my boat, I already have wipeout and lbp, and as for push demos, I am luckly I just upgraded to a 500gb hdd, otherwise people with small drives are going to have delete stuff regularly. I do like the idea, rather torn as I would prefer a hdd version of LBP to the disk version I have.

GUYS

http://www.shopto.net/PS3/DOWNLOAD/PS320...20PSN.html

2 of them = £35.70 so its cheaper already.

I also won £3 by predicting some results on their world cup comp so only £32.70 for me.
