Have ordered a couple of 120mm silent fans which are USB Powered, will power them off the amp, so when the tv is on, the fans will run Smile

won't that generate more heat as more power is being used?

the airflow created will easily cool the set up and any nominal increase which might occur, although tbh i doubt it would register. The biggest issue is as always silence, the fans could create a 'hum' which once you realise is there you will always hear.

if you find a noise check out silentpcreview they are master geeks in it and while you wont be going to their extremes theres some relatively easy and dirt cheap ideas you can gleam off their rigs and apply to your fans

the only problem I foresee is dust being introduced into the cabinet, I would perhaps have the fans blowing into the cabinet through some filter material rather than sucking the hot air out, but then you wont get full benefit of the automatic heat/fan speed.

many of the dust solutions ive read have all suggested speaker cloth

I didn't bother as most of it can be avoided depending on where you put the fans, ideally you have one low sucking the cool air in and one high sucking the hot air out. I originally followed the principle of most PC cases with the cooling fan at the front of the cab taking in loads of dust simply because it was next to the foot flow of the room switched the air in to the back and air out to side exactly the same cooling effect but nothing on the dust front bar what would normally occur given enough time
