TV

We're redecorating the living room, moving everthing around and getting a corner sofa to make the most of the space, which means moving the TV out of a corner etc, so have ordered a new 50" Panasonic Plasma Smile

If anyone wants a good deal on our old 42" Plasma (with cabinet stand) let me know,

42" Panasonic Viera TH42PX70CAB

Current TV is a cab model (ie it sits on the cabinet as in the picture in the link).

It's in the corner of the room as you know.

New position for the TV will be on the wall where the small Sofa currently is, sat on a sideboard unit (so we get a corner back, and get more storage, and all the stuff is hidden inside it)

Current TV does not have a pedestal stand, so I can't sit it on the new furniture, a pedestal is quite expensive to buy - £100.00 plus.. or I could wall mount it, but don't want too. Lastly the viewing distance currently is around 6 to 7 feet, and the new viewing distance will be around 10 to 11 feet, so 42" would look smaller.....

hence new 50" TV Smile

meh, it is and it isn't Smile

I'd have liked not to have to spend a grand on a new TV, but I really can't find a pedestal for the one we have and it would have looked small in the new layout. I'll try and upload some before and after pictures at some point.

The TV will be sat on a piece of furniture - http://www.marksandspencer.com/Shimla-Si...ed-items-3

So what I would have needed was a pedestal for the old TV like this one - http://www.hdtvuk.tv/th50px70ped-2-im04.jpg

But our TV is the cab model with the stand designed for it like this one..- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/malcolm.bam...-small.jpg

So, I have bought a 50" with pedestal like this one : - http://www.fanthorpes.co.uk/images/www.f...p42g30.jpg

I'll upload some pics of the living room as it is now, and some more when it's finished Wink

Yeah, it's close, but it should fit Smile

Have bought a IR sender unit to sit on the cab and send IR signals to the boxes in the cabinet, so everything will be hidden away (will have to drill a couple of holes in the back for ventilation and cables though)

a couple holes lol - my amp was generating so much heat in my cabinet (before my current stand) that I ended up cutting a rectangle out the back about the same size lol

Cheers Slappy, good link, got the grey cells thinking Smile

Have ordered a couple of 120mm silent fans which are USB Powered, will power them off the amp, so when the tv is on, the fans will run Smile
